Where is Golden Isles Speedway?
GIS is located in Waynesville, GA. Take exit 29 from i-95 and head west on US-82 for 13.5 miles. GIS is on the right.
When is the next event?
Visit gisdirt.com/nextevent. We update the page after each race with the flyer and other info for the following race.
How much does it cost to get in?
For the general admission in the grandstands the adult entry fee is $10. In the pits, adult entry is $30. Kids 12 and under get in free. *These are standard prices and may change depending on the event. Please view the flyer or call the office for pricing.
What is pit parking?
Pit parking is parking on the premises, around the backside of the track, closer to the racecars. Pit admission is a great way to walk around, get a closer look at the cars, and be much closer to the action. Standard pit entry is $30/adult.
What is trackside parking?
We offer over 100 spots around the racetrack fence where you can back up to the fence, pull out some chairs, and grill some burgers. Standard pricing is $20 per spot, not per person. If you and 3 friends want to reserve a spot and watch the race up-close, the entry fee would be $30 x 4 = $120, and then $20 for the spot. $140 total.
Can I bring in my own food and drinks?
Yes. We have a strict no-glass-bottle policy. We check coolers at the gates and any glass bottles must be completely disposed of before entering the premises.
Are coolers allowed?
In the grandstand area, please limit cooler size to 6- or 12- pack coolers. We have a strict no-glass-bottle policy. We check coolers at the gates and any glass bottles must be completely disposed of before entering the premises.
Is alcohol allowed?
We have a designated drinking section in the grandstands. Again, no glass bottles â€“ strictly enforced. Please drink responsibly.
Can I camp at the speedway?
We have 2 designated camp sites – a section with water and electric hookups (30 and 50 amp) and a section with water, electric, and sewage connections (30 and 50 amp). Please contact the speedway for pricing and availability.
How long do the races last?
We make an effort to have the event flow as smoothly as possible; however, start and end times vary depending on the number of classes running, weather, and other events that may interrupt or slow the event. Please see gisdirt.com/nextevent for start times of our next event.
Does GIS have security?
GIS has on-duty police officers as security during our events.
